Abigail's Rainbow/St. Patrick's 1st Brithday Party!

 With Abigail's birthday being so close to St. Patrick's day, it was easy to pick a theme for her 1st birthday!  But of course a lot of green wasn't going to cover it, we needed color, so I incorporated a lot of rainbow! 

 I had fun with the food making mini shepherd pies, Reuben sandwiches and Irish Stew.

 Abigail had the "It's my party and I'll cry if I want to attitude" for the beginning of the party.  She had been sick just days prior and was cutting teeth so I think this had a lot to do with it.

 Luckily food had her in a better mood!

We lucked out with perfect weather.  In the 70s.  Couldn't ask for better weather!

 Friends enjoyed swinging.

 And playing in the water table (Abigail's birthday present).

 Olivia made a necklace to snack on during the party.

Aunt Andi learned how to make balloon animals, swords, etc. just for the party.  So sweet!

  

The majority of the party was spent outside since the weather was so awesome!

We headed inside when it was time for the cake.

Abigail was hesitant at first...

So her big sister helped her with her first taste.

 One little taste was all it took!

Handfuls were eaten at a time!

 She kept looking at us with a concerned look as if she wasn't supposed to be doing this, but when we didn't stop her, she kept digging in.

 Eventually I had to take the cake from her because I was pretty sure she was never going to stop!

She really put a dent in that cake!

Olivia was a big helper when it came time for presents and quickly decided which toys she was going to try to take of Abigail's.

Cake and presents had the birthday girl smiling again!

 After the party, a few guests hung around and we walked to our neighborhood St. Patrick's Day festival.

The girls had so much fun dancing together.

 But it ended up being a long day and the kids didn't last long before we headed back.

Happy Birthday sweet Abigail!  And thank you to everyone who celebrated with us!

The Circus!

 I didn't get many pictures from the circus, we were lucky to even be there!  Both Jared and I came down with the stomach bug the night before the circus and I worried about who was going to take the kids.  Olivia had been counting down the days, there was no way she was missing it! 

 

The next morning, we decided we were well enough to take them.  Although it was a struggle.  But we made it to the circus as a family! 

 And Abigail got to go to her 1st Circus!  She seemed to enjoy it and did really well.  Hopefully next year we will be feeling much better for it!

Abigail - 11 months old!

 At 11 months you are a mess. All the time.  Because you are into everything.

 But you are so fun and so full of life and personality.  You think everything is funny and laugh at almost anything.  I already wonder about what is in store for me during your toddler years.

You are already over crawling.  You just want to walk, but you haven't quite mastered balance yet so you need walking toys or hands to accomplish this.

You are very clingy right now and always want either mommy or daddy with you, even if it is just to watch you play.  Maybe you just like to be center of attention.  Either way, we can't get anything done while you are awake so you are a mess and the house is a mess.

 This is about the only break we get.  You love apples and luckily they take you awhile to eat.  So as long as you are sitting within 12 inches of where we are while eating it, you are good.  Good thing you now have all 4 top, 4 bottom and 4 molars to help you eat them!

The weather is warming up and your 1st birthday will be here soon.  Hard to believe we no longer have a little baby in our house anymore!
