I'm a little behind...
Saturday was Alyssa's 1st birthday Korean celebration (although she was only 11 months old). They celebrated a month early because some of Mee Jean's family was in town from California. We were a little late to the celebration as shopping took longer than expected. It is difficult to go shopping by myself these days because Olivia doesn't like to sit in the stroller when it isn't moving which makes trying on and looking for clothes difficult. So, I usually plan to go shopping with my parents because my dad enjoys pushing Olivia around while my mom and me shop. I was happy to stock up on a fall wardrobe for Olivia while we were out.
Like I said, we were a little late so we missed the beginning where they dressed in the traditional Korean outfits and did the traditional Toljabee where you set different items in front of the baby and whatever they pick first is supposed to be a prediction for their future (I copied this from Mee Jean's blog because I had no idea what it was called). We were sad we missed this, but I enjoyed hearing about it and seeing the pictures. For more pictures and details from the celebration you go to Mee Jean's blog entry .
