Her pediatrician says she is doing great and is right on track. He wanted to show how an infant will pick up anything and put it in their mouth so he crumbled a piece of paper and put it near Olivia and she immediately grabbed it and put it in her mouth as expected. But, then when Dr. Shrouds took the paper from her, she gave him a mean look and just stared him down as if saying "give that back to me". I was glad she didn't fuss when he took it since that is something we have been working on. But, Dr. Shrouds said based off her reaction, she is developing great and shows no early signs of being autistic so that was great news!

Olivia has finally discovered her legs! Just a week ago she started standing (with support of course). She can actually stand very well while using her play table for support, but I still have to stay near for minimal support or she'll fall over. She is also so close to crawling. She will get in the crawl position and then walk her hands out, but won't walk her knees with them so she winds up on her belly and then just either rolls or pulls herself to get to what she was attempting to crawl to. She'll also slide herself backwards in the crawl position. But, even though she isn't actually crawling, she is very mobile. Now that she likes to stand, she finally loves her Jumperoo and walker!

We've also had to lower Olivia's crib because she can sit up on her own now. I put her down at my parent's house one night and went in to check on her because she didn't sound like she wanted to sleep and there she was, just sitting up in the pack and play looking all proud of herself! So, the next day we made sure to lower her crib.
Now that Olivia is 9 months she gets to start eating table foods! This is a very good thing because lately she doesn't want to eat her purees because she wants to feed herself finger foods. I think this will be a pretty easy transition for us to make and I think Olivia will love all the new foods!
Olivia has also met a new friend, Mary Addison, who is about 3 months younger than her. Her mother, Meg, was an old cheerleading friend of mine from High School. Through the wonderful world of facebook we have met back up with each other and did a little tailgating together last weekend.
