Olivia - 3 years old

At 3 years old you are 37.5 inches tall and weigh 32 pounds.  Your pediatrician remains impressed with the knowledge you have.  You continue to excel in speaking, memory, learning and understanding things.  However, you still remain clumsy which is something I'm not sure you'll ever outgrow!

You are more than excited to be a big sister soon.  You talk about Abigail as if she is already here.  When you told your Pediatrician about your upcoming dance recital, you were excited to tell him that Abigail will be here for that and you said something like this, "and Abigail is going to be like look at my big sister dancing on stage!"

You are way into fashion.  It is almost impossible for me to get you to wear anything but a dress without bribing you.  The only acceptable pants are leggings underneath a dress or skirt if it is cold outside.  You also love to accessorize with bows and jewelry.  Dress up is one of your favorite activities.  When at home, you pretty much live in one of your dress up items, or pajamas.  You also love to wear pajamas and think lazy days on the weekend where we stay in our pajamas for way too long are great.

You also love books, playing board games, puzzles and dolls.  You can play quietly by yourself for hours which is nice because you will tuck me into your bed and let me get much needed rest while you play in your room.  You also love to watch movies and Beauty and the Beast remains your favorite.  I think you are able to recite the majority of the movie by now.

One of the things that I find so adorable right now is how you make up songs about stuff.  If we are riding in the car together, you will make up a song about how we are riding in a car together and about where we are going.  Or do the same thing about any activity we are doing.  It is so cute!

Because of your stubbornness, you were a challenge to potty train.  You picked up quite quickly as first and I thought it was wonderful how easy that was.  But you've always been one to never want to miss out on anything so we began to have the issue of you not wanting to stop what you are doing to go potty.  You are doing much better now, although you still have the tendency to wait until the very last minute.  Night time potty training was simple.  You naturally wake up dry so it was easy for us to take the pull-ups away.  You love that you are a big girl now and get to wear big girl panties and you think diapers and pull-ups are for babies.

You are now in the 3 year old preschool class and your teachers said you did a wonderful job transitioning over.  They said it was like you have been in the class for months.  You have always been good with adjusting to new situations and have always been very easy going.

You saw a commercial the other day where a girl was saying she wanted to be a firefighter when she grew up.  You then told me you wanted to be a lion when you grow up.  I don't think you quite understand that isn't possible, but it is cute how much you love lions.  You have always been very decisive and when you like something, that isn't likely to change.  When given options, you are very quick at making decisions and are very firm on your decision.  You always know exactly what it is you like and I hope that never changes and that you won't be easily influenced because of your strong personality.  But with that, comes your stubbornness.  I have to remember to not ask your opinion unless I am 100% sure I am going to go with what you say because when you make a decision, there is no changing your mind!

I love watching you play pretend with your dolls.  Your favorite thing to do is dress them up and have them either go to dance class or to a party.  And you love to cook meals for us in your kitchen.

I can't believe that soon you will no longer be our littlest girl.  You are growing up way too fast.  Even though it is sad to see how fast your are growing, I love that every day is a new adventure and I can't wait to see what you will say or do next.  You are becoming such a beautiful, smart and sweet big girl and I cannot wait to see what a wonderful big sister you will be.  We love you so much!
