If you haven't guessed by the title, we are officially announcing the name of baby Fox #2. We've been referring to her as Abigail for some time but I wanted to tell how we came up with that name since it is a cute "sister story."
Since Olivia was decided from the start that she was having a sister, we didn't mention names or anything gender related to her because we weren't sure that she was having a sister. But being a toddler, apparently she is always listening because before we knew the gender of the baby I mentioned to Jared that I liked the name Abigail for a girl. This conversation was so brief that he doesn't even remember it!
When we found out that we were having another girl, I was curious what names Olivia would think of for her sister so I asked what she thought we should name her and her response was, "her name is Abigail." From this moment, you couldn't call the baby anything but Abigail because Olivia would correct you and say that her sister's name is Abigail. So, she has been Abigail since.
Since we are talking about Abigail, Olivia could not be more excited to have a baby sister. She talks about her non-stop at home, at dance class and at school. She talks about her to everyone she meets. Although when asked if she is excited that she is going to be a big sister, she corrects them by saying "I AM a big sister." I guess the baby doesn't have to be born to be a big sister already.
She is constantly asking when Abigail will be here. I think she thinks she will live in my belly forever. I told her as I was working on the nursery that I had to get the room ready for Abigail before she could come. We went and got the dresser a few days later and the next morning, the very first thing Olivia said to me when I woke her up was "we have Abigail's dresser is she coming now?"
She loves to tickle Abigail (my belly), give her hugs and talk to her. She talks about the things her and Abigail will do once Abigail is here. I just hope she isn't too disappointed when Abigail won't be able to play dress up, play games or sleep in the bed with her right away. I am so excited for how excited Olivia is to meet Abigail and cannot wait until we all get to meet her soon (although it doesn't seem soon enough!)
