Every year for the 4th, we head to Paul and Jamie's for the annual 4th of July get together. This year they were unable to host so we decided to see what kind of fun we could find.
We dressed the girls up and headed to the Peach Festival!
First up...face painting!! And look who has discovered clip on earrings. She was really excited about them but by the end of the day they hurt her ears so she said her ears weren't ready for them yet.
Then it was time to find some shade and feed Abigail a bottle. Daddy took Olivia to get a balloon made while I fed Abigail.
Despite the heat, we had a lot of fun and thankfully the area was very shaded. We listened to bands, walked around and of course peach slushies helped us to stay cool.
Thinking Olivia would enjoy the talent portion, we decided to watch the Peach Pageant. But, there wasn't a talent, just evening wear so Olivia wasn't too thrilled and kept asking when they were going to dance (she had seen a group of dancers in costume). Luckily we only had to watch the 5-6 age group and 7-9 before the dancers went on which was just enough time for a bottle for Abigail and then we left. It was a nice break from the heat and a great opportunity for potty breaks though!
After the pageant we let Olivia to pick a ride before heading out.
We came back and all rested in the bed together for maybe 10 minutes before the girls were ready to do something else!
I love all these pictures of them cuddling.
We brought back some peaches so we had to make peach cobbler!
Olivia was upstairs playing and decided she needed to fix her hair. She has a deva girl spray for her curls that she just loves and decided she needed to put her curls back in her hair and drenched it in deva curl.
Abigail couldn't join in the peach cobbler eating so she played in her jumperoo instead.
Daddy got a small thing of fireworks to do with Olivia.
The sparklers were by far her favorite. She said it was her magic wand.
We had fun seeing who could make their popper pop the loudest.
A neighbor a few houses down bought a ton of really nice fireworks to do a fireworks show so Olivia headed there with her daddy when we were finished while I stayed home with a sleeping Abigail (so glad both kids can sleep through just about anything!) She had fun watching and counting all the pink ones.
