Gingerbread Houses

The Cowherd's came over for the 1st annual Gingerbread House get together! We had so much fun we decided we need to make this a tradition, hence the 1st annual.  We also hope to be a little better at building these next year since they weren't exactly the most stable gingerbread houses; although I'm proud to say that Olivia's was still standing this morning!

Olivia was super excited!  She knows when she sits at her princess table that some sort of fun activity is about to happen!

The guys, very carefully, built the houses.

Then Allison and I frosted them so they'd be ready for the kids to decorate.

If you'll notice, Olivia went straight for all the pink pieces of candy to decorate her house with.

The kids had a lot of fun decorating the houses...

And sneaking in bites of candy when they got the chance!

I was amazed with Olivia's concentration skills.   She continued to sit there, placing the candy piece by piece for at least 45 minutes.  She couldn't be distracted, not even by Parker running around playing with all of her toys!

I was so amazed with her determination that I had to get a short video of it.

She didn't want to stop until every single piece of candy was gone.  I had to sneak a handful of candy away, otherwise we would have been there all night long with all the little tiny candies that were left!

But she had a great time!

And loved licking the icing off her fingers at the end.

This might just be the most decorated gingerbread house I've ever seen!

We're not really sure what happened to Parker's, but it made for a yummy dessert!  We can't wait until the 2nd annual Gingerbread House get together!
