Big Sibling Class!

We originally planned to deliver Abigail at the same hospital we had Olivia, however the hospital stopped their Labor and Delivery the beginning of this year.  My doctor then had us plan for a different hospital before he knew exactly where he would relocate, only for us to find out last month he was relocating somewhere else.  We are thrilled with the hospital we will be at although the location isn't quite as convenient as the hospital we had Olivia.  But, because of this we finally got the chance to do the hospital tour and for Olivia to do her big sibling class just 11 days before Abigail will be here!  Olivia had been looking forward to this class since she was originally signed up to take it at the other hospital (luckily she doesn't know dates and didn't realize she was taking it a month later than we had said).

The kids all introduced themselves, how old they are, if they were expecting a brother or sister, when their baby sibling was due and the name of their sibling.  As always, Olivia couldn't keep her mouth shut and kept wanting to jump in and add her own comments as other kids were speaking.  One kid would say they were having a brother and Olivia would excitedly announce "I'm having a sister!" Or another kid would say the name of their sibling and Olivia would say "that's not what my sister's name is going to be."  We got her to be quiet and wait her turn, but I could tell it was killing her to not comment on all the kids answers.  When it was her turn, she proudly told the class her full name and answered all the questions with a lot of enthusiasm!  She definitely is not shy talking in front of people and loves to talk!

After a short movie about being a big sibling, the staff provided the kids with their own hat, shoe covers and face mask that they could wear for a tour.  Olivia put hers on long enough for a picture and then had no interest in wearing it.  I'm sure if the stuff was pink it would have been a different story!

The tour was the part she was most excited about.  She kept asking when it was going to be time to see the babies.  When she finally got to see the babies in the nursery she was so excited and said "look at those little sweeties."  I think she was expecting to get to hold one but she'll have to wait for Abigail for that!

After the tour, the kids came back and got to practice with dolls.

They showed them how to hold, diaper and swaddle the baby.  Olivia is going to need a little more practice with these!

At the end, all the kids got to cuddle their babies while listening to a story about being a big sibling.

And then they were all awarded their Super Sibling Certificates for passing the class!
