Sisters

I just wanted to take a minute to gush about how great Olivia has been as a big sister.  She absolutely loves her little sister and gets really excited when I bring her to her class because she loves to show her off to her friends.  She tells all her friends, "isn't she adorable?"

She has also been a great helper wanting to be the one to calm Abigail when she is upset.  The second Abigail makes a little whimper, Olivia is up and running to her saying "sweetie, it's ok.  We don't need to cry sweetie."  All the while she rubs her forehead and gives her kisses.  She always calls her "sweetie" or "my sweet little Abigail" or "sweetie Abigail."  It always makes me smile.

One night during dinner Abigail started fussing and immediately Olivia was out of her seat, when I went to get out of my seat with her she said, "mommy, I've got this, sit back down" as she rushed to check on her sister.  Another day when she was eating her snack she went to Abigail at the first sign of a fuss, calmed her, sat back down to eat her snack.  Immediately after she sat down, Abigail made a little fuss again and immediately Olivia was out of her seat to check on her again.  This happened about 4 times in a row and every time she kept jumping up to check on her not caring that she was in the middle of a snack.  So sweet!

She has a big sister book that she loves to read which talks about everything the big sister and little sister will get to do together soon such as tea parties, dress up, secret sleepovers, playing on the beach, etc. and I know Olivia can't wait to do all of those things with Abigail.  She has renamed the girls in the book as her and Abigail and says they will do all of those things together as soon as Abigail is bigger.
