The new year started off with great weather. We took full advantage of the warmer weather and spent most of the day outside. Most kids on the street were outside trying out their new toys they had gotten for Christmas so this was a great opportunity for Olivia to try out her tricycle!
She got the hang of it pretty quick, but hasn't quite mastered it. If you give her a little push, she is good to go but isn't quite able to get started up on her own yet. That's ok, we'll have plenty of time to practice once the weather warms up.
After some time of riding the tricycle we took a trip to the playground and then went for a nice long walk.
Olivia was really excited to go down the tunnel slide when we got there, but actually ended up preferring the twisty slide this time around better. She did get upset at first when another little girl wanted to go down the twisty slide as well, but after a little pep talk, Olivia happily shared and played very well taking turns with all the other kids that came. I sure hope all 2 year old behavior is this easy to correct!
Olivia was also on "police" duty as she was riding the chipmunk. An older boy was riding the turtle across from her without using the handlebars and she told him he needed to use them. Way to follow the rules Olivia! I can't wait for the weather to warm up so we can spend more time outside!
