2010 in Review

Looking back at 2010, I realize what a fun and busy year we had.  It was our first year in our new house and a year of many firsts for Olivia and us as a family of 3.  Here are just some of the highlights.

We started the year off by celebrating Olivia's first birthday!

In February, we went to the circus and then just a few days later, Olivia took her first steps, although it was almost a month later before she was actually walking.

February also brought an unexpected 7 inches of snow just before Valentine's Day which was Olivia's first time in the snow!

In March, we celebrated Mary-Addison's 1st Birthday.

And Olivia got to experience her first Easter egg hunt.

April was a much busier month which started off with a visit from the Easter bunny.

And later, Olivia's first boat ride on Lake Murray.

April was also filled with fun play dates, a first visit to Bouncerific, Disney on Ice and Olivia even got a play gym for the backyard.

The weather didn't take long to warm up and we spent May finding ways to stay cool by running around in the sprinklers and spending time at the pool.

June brought on a busy month of spending time at the lake...

Celebrating with a surprise 70's themed party as my mom turned 50...

Taking a family vacation to Dollywood, which we were more than impressed with...

And taking a trip back home to Arizona where Olivia got to meet a lot of her cousins and family for the first time.

July began as it always does with the annual 4th of July BBQ at the McGee's.

We took another family vacation, this time to the beach.  This wasn't Olivia's first trip to the beach, but she was able to enjoy the sand and water a lot more than the year before.

Olivia also saw her first musical, Annie, this month which was the beginning of her love of music and she has been singing ever since.

August was another fun month as we packed up the car and headed to the mountains with new friends we met this year; the Cowherd's and the Lazinek's.

We spent the rest of August with more play dates, trips to the water park and bouncerific.

We had a special late night play date at the playground in September where I realized how quickly Olivia was growing up by the way she was able to do most everything on her own.

We went tailgating for our first Saturday home game of the season which was a great start to a pretty good year for the Gamecocks who later made it to the SEC Championship and Chick-fil-a Bowl (sadly, losing both of these).

September was also the month that we switched Olivia to her big girl bed!

And we had our first mommy/daughter slumber party with Meg and Mary-Addison!

The month ended with a Sesame Street Party for Alyssa's 2nd birthday.

By October, I finally finished Olivia's big girl room!

And we also celebrated Meghan's 2nd birthday.

We took Olivia to her first trip to the fair and even though she wasn't big enough to ride anything yet, she still enjoyed the food, animals and the flower exhibits.

October was also filled with a lot of Halloween festivities with a trip to the pumpkin patch, Halloween parties, a neighborhood event, trunk or treat, pumpkin carving and finally trick-or-treating!

In November, we got to watch Olivia perform in her first school performance and I realized that I was definitely a VERY proud mommy!
And we all had a lot to be thankful for on Thanksgiving as we celebrated with our family.

December finally came and we had fun baking, decorating the tree, making Christmas crafts and even started what we hope we will be a new tradition of decorating gingerbread houses.

Santa came,

And Jared and I got to end the year with a night out together.

We had such a wonderful 2010 and are already excited for 2011 as we are hoping to make our family of 3, a family of 4 this year.
