Although not everything about 2011 was great, it was still a great year to remember. A year full of great memories and another year that we got to watch Olivia grow into even more of a big girl and watch her accomplish and experience so much.
Just as the start of every year, January started off celebrating Olivia as she turned 2 with a Minnie Mouse themed party by request.
We also got even more snow which covered the ground for days. Sadly Olivia was too sick to go out and play so she had to enjoy it from the window.
I wish I could say January was a great start to the year, but sadly at the end of the month we learned at my 8 week appointment that I had miscarried the baby we were expecting in August. We were thankful for great friends and family who helped get us through this time and we stayed optimistic that 2011 would still be a great year.
In February we had a lot of fun celebrating Jacob's 1st birthday and taking Olivia to the circus with her buddy Parker.
We also had fun around Valentine's Day baking with friends,
And Olivia was really excited about the Valentine's she had received from classmates.
March was a little more low key, spending time with friends and having fun at friends birthday parties.
We had a fun St. Patrick's day with a traditional dinner of corn beef and cabbage and Olivia got more practice on her tricycle (which she has now mastered) with her friend Parker.
We also enjoyed a fun St. Patrick's Day Festival with friends at our neighborhood event.
In April, Olivia began swimming lessons. Unlike last year, this year she was not afraid of the water at all and was ready to "swim like Ariel." Although she wasn't swimming like Ariel at the end, she made really great progress!
We had a girl's night out to one of many shows we saw together this year. Olivia loves shows just as much as her mommy.
I got to join Olivia on her 1st ever school field trip which was to see Disney on Ice!
The end of the month, we celebrated a wonderful holiday, Easter.
May was a month with great weather and we enjoyed time spent outdoors, picking strawberries and the crawfish festival!
This was also the month that Olivia became an even bigger girl by replacing her toddler bed with a big girl bed and we began the ever so fun potty training.
May ended with a fun weekend trip with friends to the mountains.
June was a month that I was looking forward to for quite awhile before it finally arrived. Not just because it is the month of my birthday and our anniversary but because we had a big vacation planned this year to Disney World! This is a trip I will always remember and can't wait until we can do it again.
We also took a day trip to the beach with friends to celebrate Father's Day, a day Olivia and I have a lot to be thankful for as we each are lucky to have such great fathers!
In July we hit another milestone...Olivia's first hair cut! This was much more emotional than I would have ever thought!
The 4th of July was spent as usual with the annual Phi Delt cookout at the McGee's. This year Olivia was more interested in helping with the fireworks.
GiGi came to visit and we all spent a weekend at the beach.
And we enjoyed spending weekends like this...
We had a few firsts in August, with Olivia's first sleepover (with mommy still there of course).
Her first dance class!
And sadly, Olivia had to say bye to one of her friends for the first time as our good friends, the Lazineks, moved away.
September brought great joy as we announced our exciting news that Olivia was expected to be a big sister. Thankfully this appointment went much better than the one earlier in the year.
September also means, football season!! This year Olivia was excited to get to go to 2 home games, her favorite being the cheerleaders and cocky!
And we had a fun weekend getaway back to the beach!
October always brings a lot of fun with Halloween activities. This year we enjoyed Boo at the Zoo, Trunk or Treat and visiting the pumpkin patch near our house.
But another exciting event in October was the fair! We went for another field trip so Olivia got to go with classmates and not only did she enjoy the rides (the girl loves rides) but she rode a camel!
And of course, our cute little lion was more than into trick-or-treating this year.
November was another exciting month because we found out Olivia would be having a sister! She has said she was having a sister since she found out mommy was having another baby and it was exciting to see her so excited that she really is having a sister.
This month we also got to see one of Olivia's many upcoming performances for her school's Thanksgiving Feast. I love school performances!
I feel like I keep starting every month off with it being an exciting month, but December was yet again, another exciting month! It started off with an adult trip to NYC! This wasn't only my first trip to NYC, but my first weekend away from Olivia. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to handle it, but I did and had a fantastic time.
The Christmas season was even more magical this year. Not only did Olivia really enjoy and understand the whole "Santa" aspect, but she also really understood why we actually celebrate Christmas.
And I enjoyed watching Olivia in a lot more performances this month with her school performance, church performance and open house at dance. She doesn't seem to get stage fright.
Christmas was rather busy this year, but we enjoyed the time spent with family. Olivia still loved Christmas even though we didn't get snow.
But before the year ended, we took her to see the snow she had been expecting on Christmas.
We celebrated the New Year with close friends and hope that 2012 is a year for more great memories and we look forward to the arrival of our newest baby girl.

Great post!
