Memorial Day Weekend

This was another busy weekend for us. The weekend started off with a trip to North Augusta for a surprise party for Jared's mother who turned 60!

Because of the type of birthday it was, we were all asked to dress in black.

I'm not sure that I got to hold Olivia much that night as she was passed around from person to person all night long. She even stayed up past her bedtime because she was too awake from all the excitement.

The next morning we met family for a pre-graduation breakfast for Olivia's cousin Courtney who was graduating High School that night.

After an afternoon of shopping, we then went to see Courtney graduate which was followed by an after graduation party where again, everyone would cuddle Olivia but me.

Congratulations Courtney!

As always, Olivia was so well behaved during the ceremony.

Everything goes into her mouth lately.

Yes, I forgot to bring her bloomers so Olivia had to show off her huggies all night.

We headed back home Sunday to get some well needed rest. Olivia doesn't seem to sleep as well when she is not in her crib. I am not sure if it was from the light coming in the room because her room has room darkening shades or if it was because she slept in the room with Jared and I and the dogs and the noise from us was waking her up but I was happy when she slept in again until 9 Monday morning. I always worry when she doesn't sleep in that my good luck of having such a great sleeping baby is wearing off because I just feel it is too good to be true!

Every week Olivia's personality is developing more and more. This last week she has started "talking" all the time. She seems to be more talkative in the mornings and evenings and I will find her in the mornings talking to her self in the crib. She also loves to jump now, but of course with our help. This is another way to almost always get a good laugh out of her so you can imagine how tone my arms are getting because watching her laugh makes it really easy to push through the burn and continue to bounce her up and down - this is by far the best arm workout I've ever done.

She is also beginning to really like her dogs Trixie and Claire. She gets all excited when the dogs come up to her now and she pet Claire for the first time last week! Claire also joins Olivia during tummy time. Claire thinks Olivia is her baby and has to be near her at all times. The second I lay the blanket on the ground for Olivia's tummy time, Claire lays right on it because she knows I am about to put Olivia there.

Olivia has also learned to turn her head to the side instead of face planting it into the floor when she needs a rest. I am very happy about this!

  1. Kristi, Glad to see you're doing well! Olivia is precious, as always! Hope she's having a wonderful first taste of Columbia heat! :) We're trying to stay indoors and enjoy the AC as much as we can! I look forward to more updates! Take care!
